The Pottery Festival features:
· tours of the potting sheds and kiln
· Over 30 potters displaying & selling traditional &
· pottery demonstrations
· hands-on potting opportunities
· an exhibit of original, historic Stahl’s pottery
· this year our museum will feature “Toys from our Childhood” (an historic look at family toys from the early 1900s to the present)
· the sale of baked goods & light refreshments
The Festival will be held rain or shine. Parking is free.
Admission is $3.00 per person; children under 18 are free.
Several of the participating potters will be demonstrating turning
pottery on the potter’s wheel and other pottery making techniques
during the Festival.
Raku pottery demonstrations will be performed periodically
throughout the Festival.
A limited number of the redware sgraffito plates commemorating the 25th anniversary of Stahl's Pottery Preservation Society and the Stahl’s Pottery Festival made by Joel Leh, great grandson of Thomas Stahl, are still available for sale.
In addition, the recently published book entitled "Stahl's Pottery of
history of the Stahl's Pottery, including chapters on Charles Stahl,
book features a 16 page color portfolio of pottery pieces made at
Stahl's Pottery and over 75 historic Black and White photographs.
The Thomas and Alice Stahl House Museum will be open & will feature an exhibit of historic Stahl’s pottery and artifacts; as well as a family collection of “Toys from our Childhood” featuring home crafted and purchased toys from the early 1900s to the present.
Due to the fragile nature of our potter’s exhibits,
we do suggest that you leave your pets at home.
Service animals are welcome.
Stahl’s Pottery Preservation Society, Inc. (SPPS), will hold its Annual Summer Pottery Festival on
Saturday, June 20th, 2015 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Stahl’s Pottery,
historic property in Powder Valley, Pennsylvania.
